XL museum-quality cabinet specimen! This gorgeous, piece contains botryoidal formations of chrysocolla and dark heterogenite with "bushes" of malachite on a gemmy, silicated surface. The translucent gem silica is cut-through in some areas, revealing a brightness that lights up the whole piece. Contains some vugs of intact botryoids.<br><br>Gem silica and chrysocolla are typically found in copper ore deposit veins, where they can take on a massive, crusted, or botryoidal form. Gem silica (also known as chrysocolla chalcedony) is the druzy or gemmy form of chrysocolla with quartz, and it is exceptionally more rare than its constituent components. <br><br>Locality: Kulukuluku, Congo<br>Mass: ~1100g (best estimate, this specimen maxxed out my mineral scale :( )<br>Dimensions: 160x105x55 mm<br>Size classification: XL cabinet<br><br>Dimensions are approximate, as minerals come in unique, irregular shapes.
