Original Beyer Bavarian Oktoberfest Beer Stein from 1985. Gently displayed and never used, in mint condition with no chips, cracks, scratches, or breaks. Pewter lid. Stands approximately 11 inches tall. This stein portrays the Bavarian Coat of Arms framed by diamond panelling in full relief. The inscription "Gott mit Dir, Du Land der Bayern" translates to "God be with you, Land of the Bavarians." A garland of Edelweiss completes the attractive stein. The stein is made from genuine Westerwald clay. The matt black glaze is applied by hand, and the relief effect is gained painstakingly removing the superfluous glaze with a special swab. The fine details are revealed thereby enhancing the craftsmanship of the artisan and giving it its antique character. It is then kiln fired at 1170 centigrade. Specialist decorators finish the stein in ceramic colours after which it is again fired to give the colours their special brilliance. Finally, the pewter lid is applied to the stein.
