Vintage 1940's navy blue skirt suit by Townley for Berry Burk, Richmond. Feels like a heavy cotton with a check design. The fitted jacket features blue/grey marbled buttons, front flap pockets, back box pleat, cuffed sleeves, and light shoulder pads. Seaming detail at the hips and a box pleat in the back with vent. The skirt is unlined. No size tag. Mannequin is a size 2 and it fits nicely with a bit of room in the hips. Jacket measures 21.5" long, 15.25" across the shoulders, 23" sleeves. Laying flat, seam to seam, it's 17.5" across under the arms, 13.25" at the waist, 17.5" at the hem. The skirt is 27" long and 12.5" across the waist, 17.5" at the hips. Some slight fading to the collar of the jacket and slight discoloration under the arms in the lining. See photos for details.
