Rare uncut sheet of 16 - 1976 Bicentennial $2.00 bills, each featuring two limited edition Bicentennial First Day of Issue postage stamps. Postmarked April 13, 1976.
This date commemorates the public release and Thomas Jefferson’s birthday. Jefferson's image is on the bill, and he was the writer of The Articles of Confederation. The reverse depicts the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
A significant piece of American historical currency. Given that the stamps were affixed and postmarked by individual citizens, the exact number of these sheets with stamps is unknown. The only uncut sheets of 16 with cancelled stamps I have seen. Many available without the cancelled stamp
