Authentic 1899 US Military Document Signed by Samuel Chrisman Hazzard, a Spanish American War veteran and former West Point instructor.

Hazzard, a 1st Lieutenant in the 1st US Artillery, deserted from the Army on May 31, 1900, due to bigamy and theft of funds. He was also a West Point Instructor of Modern Languages and Adjutant of the U.S. Military Academy from 1895-1898.

His story involves a highly publicized trial for bigamy, resulting in a two-year prison sentence. His 3rd wife, Linda B. Hazzard, was a controversial figure known for promoting fasting as a treatment, and was also imprisoned for manslaughter.
