It all began in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Märtens, a military doctor, injured his foot in a skiing accident. To alleviate the pain, he developed a highly cushioned sole made from old tires. By trapping air within the sole, it absorbs shock during walking, achieving a "bouncy" walking experience!
