For sale is a Rare Genuine 1788 Colonial Massachusetts US State Minted Penny. <br><br>—This Rare piece is the First United States Penny Minted in the United States— <br><br>On October 17, 1786, the Massachusetts General Court passed an act establishing a state-run mint to make coins for circulation. This is before the Philadelphia Mint was operating. <br><br>On the front of the coin there’s an Indian Native American with a bow and arrow, a star on one side, and the word “Commonwealth.” The back side has an eagle with its wings spread with the words Massachusetts and the date 1788. <br><br>Guidebook Value: $1,150
