All steel parts and aluminum alloy casting frame. Just the upper cover, handle, sliding cover for free arm, and knobs are made out of plastic. Manufactured in Taiwan in the middle of the 1960s.
Until the 1970s, Necchi was a widely recognized brand in the USA.
In 1954, The Singer SMC learned that Arnaldo Vigorelli (former engineer from Necchi) had introduced into the US a modified form of its multi-cam machine that incorporated Singer "306" machine design and basically was a modified form of Singer's expired US Tiesler Patent. Vigorelli had not obtained a patent in the US for his machine.
