"Julie Larson was born in Pulaski, New York. Her studies include the following institutions: SUNY at Buffalo, Siena in Italy and she received her advanced degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, where she delved into the study of the coiling as a method of hand building and wrote a paper per "The Penland School of Crafts Book of Pottery". She started working with her husband Tyrone Larson (1940-) in 1966 from their Royal Oak, Michigan studio. They established their North Carolina a few decades ago, where they currently reside in Asheville."
