He is most famous for his vibrantly colored paintings of horse and boat racing.<br>He won the Grand Prix de Rome in painting in 1955, and is the official artist for the French Marines. He is also a leading member of a number of art associations.<br>Ambille exhibits internationally, including in Japan, France, and the United States, and his work forms a part of public and private collections around the world.
