Moldavite is a tektite believed to be created approximately 14 million years ago by a meteor impact. This impact vaporized the meteor and surrounding material, ejecting vapors into the upper atmosphere that solidified and rained back down as solids. Moldavite is found only in the Moldau River Valley in the Czech Republic.
