Antique Victorian Era Framed Post Mortem Lithograph ‘Called Away’ 1800’s

This very rare lithograph of a child’s death is a little eerie. I’m assuming the child was ill, notice the medication on the side table. The mother’s clasped hands in prayer and the angel standing bedside.<br>There’s a sign on the wall presumably reading ‘Rest in the Lord.’ <br>The artist puts all the clues there to let the viewer know that this beautiful child has been ‘Called Away.’<br>This is from the 1800’s and has some waves and bubbles in the glass which is quite charming. It is hung with a picture molding hook with tassel.<br>Notice the tapered rectangle nails in the back. The frame is wood and has gesso painted with a wood grain which is chipped in places.<br>This unusual artwork is a one of a kind piece and I can find nothing that is even similar.<br>Even though it is a bit macabre, it is a beautiful piece of art capturing the end of life for a child and a grieving mother.<br>21” x 23.5”<br><br>A391
