Presented is a fabulous American Victorian 15 karat gold, pearl and woven hair brooch. This piece dates to circa 1856. <br>The brooch is set with finely plaited brown hair and light beige under glass, apparently for two people. The glass is surrounded by a ring of natural seed pearls. The seed pearls are in place except one is missing.<br>The brooch has an old c hook clasp.<br>The back of the brooch has a presentation inscription , reading John & Mary, August 1956, it is very unusual.<br>Dimension is 30.0 x 18.0mm, weight 6.9gm<br>No assay mark, tested for 14-15K
